Along with movies like Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Sixteen Candles, Better Off Dead holds its place in the pantheon of 80's comedy. The peculiar surreal elements and the farfetched storyline are somewhat amusing, but the movie endures as a cult favorite because of a few crazy scenes and a lot of great quotes. My personal favorite line from the movie is from the girl John Cusack dates at the beginning of the movie: "Lane, I think it'd be in my best interest if I dated somebody more popular. Better looking. Drived a nicer car."
